Harris Patient Info Service Connected to State Health Exchange

Harris logo_EBizA Harris-developed service designed to help users securely exchange patient information has added two new users into the state of Florida’s Health Information Exchange.

The Patient Look-Up Service works to help accredited users access medical records that now cover around 9,000 of the state’s patient beds, Harris said Tuesday.

University of Florida Health and Florida Hospital have linked to the state HIE and coverage now extends to nearly 9,000 patient beds, or nearly 20 percent of beds statewide.

Strategic Health Intelligence and Atlantic Coast HIE went online in May.

Doctors, hospitals and health providers use the data to facilitate patient care, as well as diagnose and treat illnesses.

Twenty entities are expected to be onboard the Florida HIE by June 2014, Harris says.
