Jacobs Engineering Group has won a Workplace Safety and Health Performance Excellence Award in Singapore for creating programs meant to protect the safety and health of employees in the workplace.
Jacobs earned the recognition from Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower and Workplace Safety and Health Council and is the only construction and engineering contractor to receive the award this year, Jacobs said Tuesday.
“Achieving this award reflects our commitment to health and safety, our culture of caring, and our goal to inspire our employees to take this mindset beyond the workplace to influence every part of their lives and communities,” said Tom Quinn, group vice president at Jacobs.
The Singapore WSH Council is comprised of industry and government leaders working to promote occupational health and safety in the country.
According to Jacobs, its zero-accident projects have yielded almost 117 million safe hours for workers.
