Scott Musson, former senior director of global partnerships at VMware, has joined Red Hat as vice president of global strategic alliances to help develop business plans and grow the company’s technologies.
Musson will manage Red Hat’s system integration business, independent software vendor partnerships, and its businesses with HP, IBM, Dell and Cisco, the company said Monday.
Red Hat’s alliances aim to help enterprises move to the hybrid cloud platform, manage datacenter operations and upgrade applications.
Mark Enzweiler, Red Hat vice president of global channels and alliances, said Musson will aim to help the company expand its strategic alliances and deliver services to its channel.
Most recently, Musson led VMware’s strategic and technical relationships.
Before joining VMware, he served several lead roles in various information technology firms, including NCR, HP and Dell.
