Avaya has rolled out its Software-Defined Data Center framework that seeks to help administer virtual machine deployments, storage assignments and network configurations of virtualized data centers.
The SDDC is part of the company’s larger Software-Defined Networking suite of products that it expects to roll out over the next 18 months, the company said Monday.
According to Avaya, the tool uses the cloud-based OpenStack platform and Avaya’s Fabric Connect network provisioning technology and aims to help enterprises use cloud-based services in minutes.
“This announcement demonstrates that enterprises can immediately realize the operational benefits of real-time orchestration and automation,” said Marc Randall, senior vice president and general manager for networking at Avaya.
The business communications software and services provider will hold SDDC framework demonstrations at the upcoming VMworld 2013 in San Francisco.
