New Booz Allen Infographic Explores Key Expertises of Big Data Science Teams; Joshua Sullivan Comments

BoozAllenLogoBooz Allen Hamilton has released an infographic outlining the foundational characteristics of a data science team that would work to help organizations gain insights from big data.

A data science team requires individuals who possess domain knowledge as well as mathematical, statistical and programming skills, Booz Allen said Tuesday.

“The emerging field of data science is a fundamental piece to unlocking the power hidden within the avalanche of data,” said Joshua Sullivan, a vice president and data scientist at Booz Allen.

“Our government and commercial clients see the greatest return when their data science teams possess the expertise to help ask intuitive questions of data, and the ability to translate the newly-discovered insight into information that matters to the organization’s core mission,” Sullivan added.

The firm and the University of Maryland recently partnered to create the Corporate Partners in Computing Program with the aim of encouraging more students to pursue careers in data and computer science.
