CGI will help operate a power transmission infrastructure in Australia’s state of New South Wales under a three-year agreement with an electric utility.
Work under the contract with TransGrid includes management and monitoring account networks, computing applications and software-as-a-service facilities as well as security and virtualization platforms, CGI said Tuesday.
“CGI is committed to delivering tangible business benefits to TransGrid,” said Colin Holgate, CGI’s Asia Pacific president.
TransGrid’s networks cover more than 7,900 miles of high voltage transmission lines and underground cables, along with 91 substations and switchyards.
CGI will also support geographical information system applications and operate a service center.
