CSC has agreed to offer subscription support for a Hortonworks data management platform to enterprise clients under a reseller pact between the two companies.

Hortonworks distributes open-source software for Apache Hadoop with the aim of helping businesses field data sources and handle information at any scale and format.

Sashi Reddi, CSC vice president and general manager of big data and analytics, said the company will work to support Hortonworks customers on big data technology implementation.

“We look forward to expanding the enterprise adoption of 100-percent open source Apache Hadoop across the globe and ensure its place in today’s modern data architecture,” Mitch Ferguson, vice president of business development for Hortonworks, said in the company’announcement Wednesday.

Hortonworks also provides its product users with technical services, training and certification programs.
