Daniel Gerstein, DHS deputy undersecretary for science and technology, told the Monterey Herald that the event aimed to explore new capabilities for addressing security and privacy challenges.
Boeing and Berico displayed tools that work to mine information from social media while Physical Sciences and AeroVironment flew their drones, according to the report.
