Mike Tippets, a Hughes Network Systems vice president, has been recognized by the Federal Government Distance Learning Association for his contributions to the organization in the past ten years.
Tippets and his company were named recipients of the pillar award, which was intended to acknowledge their efforts in support of FGDLA-led initiatives, during a ceremony held on August 15, Hughes said Sunday.
Hughes Government Solutions Group was distinguished for works to develop distance learning and enterprise solutions that benefit federal agencies while Tippets was honored for leading the FGDLA’s advisory board and marketing and business development committee.
“It is an honor to serve FGDLA and to receive this award from my peers,” said Tippets, who also serves as VP at Hughes Solutions Group.
Tony Bardo, Hughes Government Solutions assistant VP added that FGDLA members aim to implement distance learning platforms and tools that would function to enhance the communications capabilities of the public sector.
The award was given at the Washington International Learning Technologies Conference.
