Splunk, Pentaho Form Machine Data-Business Intell Partnership

data ServersSplunk has integrated its machine data software offering with a Pentaho business intelligence platform as the companies aim to help customers explore and visualize big data, ZDNet reported Wednesday.

Andrew Brust writes Pentaho Business Analytics for Splunk Enterprise intends for users to combine information gathered by machines and unstructured data sources.

Splunk works to index data from websites, servers, mobile devices and storage systems and Pentaho seeks to extract data from traditional databases, Brust writes.

Users can download the integrated offering from the Splunkbase application, according to the report

The San Francisco-based machine data software developer also offers Splunk Software Development Kit for Java.
