Aerojet Rocketdyne has received an environmental excellence award from the Arkansas Environmental Federation for the company’s perchlorate remediation project in Camden, Ark.
The AEF 2013 Diamond Award highlighted the company’s use of natural biological methods to recycle soil and the company exceeding its mandated soil and groundwater clean-up goals, Aerojet Rocketdyne said Thursday.
For this project, the company said it used the biological methods as opposed to the industry standard “dig and haul” removal practice.
Aerojet Rocketdyne is scheduled to receive its award in early October at the AEF’s 46th Annual Convention and Trade Show at the Hot Springs Convention Center in Hot Springs, Ark.
During the event, the company will also conduct a presentation about the project.
