Michael Brown serves as vice president and general manager of the federal business of RSA Security, EMCs’s security division, a position he took on after serving more than 31 years in the U.S. Navy.
Brown most recently served as Director and Cybersecurity Coordinator for the Department of Homeland Security, “where he was responsible for increasing interdepartmental collaboration in strategic planning for the Nation’s cybersecurity, mutual support for cybersecurity capabilities development, and synchronization of current operational cybersecurity mission activities for the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security,” according to Federal News Radio.
Fed News Radio said his previous government positions include:
- DHS Deputy Assistant Secretary, Cybersecurity and Communications
- Acting Assistant Secretary, Cybersecurity and Communications
- Assistant Deputy Director Joint Interagency Task Force for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence
Brown also commanded the Naval Information Warfare Activity among his leadership positions within the Navy.
The U.S. Naval Academy graduate earned a graduate degree in electronic warfare from the Naval Postgraduate School and a graduate degree in national and strategic studies from the Naval War College.
