IBM Settles Buy of CSL International; Patrick Toole Comments

IBMlogo3 EbizIBM has acquired CSL International for an undisclosed amount in a move to expand its cloud and virtualization offerings.

The buy-out comes as new integrated software co-developed by the two companies is expected to be released under the IBM zEnterprise product portfolio by next year, IBM said Friday.

Patrick Toole, IBM System z general manager, said the CSL-WAVE software is designed to enhance the analytics, big data and cloud capabilities of information technology infrastructure that allow clients to connect with their customers.

IBM recently added to its zEnterprise solutions a business platform intended to provide operating systems with enhanced mobile computing features.

Israel-based CSL International develops and provides virtualization management capabilities for the zEnterprise system of IBM.
