The 40-year industry veteran will be responsible for developing strategies to expand Catapult’s information technology and cybersecurity offerings in his new position, the company said Wednesday.
John will help “us expand our capabilities and service offerings specific to the defense, healthcare, national security and commercial sectors,” said Catapult CEO William Senich.
At Applied Communications Sciences, Kimmins helped form methodology for assessing the risk of smart grid technology, broadband networking, Internet Protocol television and 3G/4G wireless networks.
Kimmins has published papers about telecommunications infrastructure vulnerabilities and joined working groups to promote industry best practices.
He previously worked at AT&T Bell Laboratories and Bellcore, managing control evaluation of critical software platforms.
