Representatives from more than 40 companies attended the event at Parsons’ Pasadena, Calif. headquarters and discussed United Way’s Hiring Our Heroes, to Create Pathways Out of Poverty initiative, Parsons said Thursday.
David Goodrich, Parsons’ corporate vice president of talent management, said the companies aim to help former military service crews pursue civilian jobs.
Participants at the forum included financial institutions, public utilities, healthcare providers, technology companies, retailers, universities and aerospace companies.
“The input provided at today’s forum will help us to create a model program to assist these honorable men and women gain employment and have a place in our community,” said David Menchaca, United Way of Greater Los Angeles relationship manager.
