The AM General is one of the companies being considered to supply the Defense Department with joint light tactical vehicles to replace the Humvee.
The company says it has previously developed around 300,000 high mobility multi-purpose wheeled vehicles that have been bought by the Pentagon and more than 50 international customers.
Chris Vanslager, AM General Vice President Business Development and Program Management, said the company has a network of 1,700 suppliers located across 43 statesworking on the project.
“Low-risk, high-quality and affordability is what our customer requires, and we at AM General, have more than five decades of experience and the heritage of manufacturing light tactical vehicles to deliver those requirements to the men and women of the armed services,” he added.
The company claims that this experience in manufacturing makes them uniquely prepared to take on the task of producing the JLTV for the military and international partners.
