CAE has four full-flight simulators and other flight training devices to customers in China and Africa for an estimated value of $48.2 million.
The company has sold a Boeing 787 simulator to Ethiopian Airlines and a CAE Simfinity training device to China Southern Airlines’ Zhuhai Flight Training Centre, CAE announced Tuesday.
Sales to Ethopian Airlines also include visual updates for three existing FFSs, intended to upgrade the devices to the CAE Tropos 6000XR technology.
“Our joint venture with China Southern Airlines, ZFTC, continues to expand and we are pleased to broaden our relationship with operators in the fast growing Africa aviation market such as Ethiopian Airlines,” said Nick Leontidis, CAE group president for civil simulation products, training and services.
CAE also sold two other FFSs to an undisclosed customer in Africa.
China Southern Airlines also acquired a Sikorsky S-92 helicopter simulator and CAE Simfinity training devices.
