AMC intends for QinetiQ’s Paramarine technology to assist with teaching students who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, according to the report.
Vittorio Vagliani, QinetiQ GRC managing director, said the company rolled out version eight of the naval design software.
“We are very pleased to have been selected by the Australian Maritime College who along with the many other academic institutions around the world are using Paramarine to train many hundreds of naval architects,” Vagliani added.
Paramarine is based on a Siemens geometric modeling tool that works to support computer-aided design applications, MarineLink reports.
The company updated the platform to include probabilistic damage modeling, emergency response and stability assessment features.
