Parsons announced that it served as a gold sponsor during Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s marathon-style competitive programming event last Oct. 5 and 6.
Over 1,000 programmers and students from more than 200 U.S. universities, South America, Europe and Australia participated at this year’s HackMIT, a 30-hour student led hackathon with more than $10,000 in prizes, Parsons said Wednesday.
Eric Alford, a Parsons systems security engineer and Kirsten Renner, a Parsons recruiter, participated in the event.
“Special thanks goes to Eric for mentoring some of the brightest college minds at this 2-day event,” said Mary Ann Hopkins, Parsons group president.
“Who knows which of these students might be inspired to work for Parsons as a result of Eric’s time spent with them,” she dded.
The undergraduate hacker teams designed and implemented new web, desktop, mobile and hardware projects.
