Teradata will supply analytics technology to the European Regional Development Fund with the goal of processing, analyzing and managing big data from smart grids.
The computer software company’s Data Warehouse Appliance and Teradata Database will work to examine and process end-to-end data from more 35 million power meters scheduled to be installed in France by 2022, Teradata said Oct. 22.
France also aims to bring its energy systems in line with industry standards and improve customer service.
Eric Joulie, president at Teradata France and vice president at Teradata South Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said the decision-making and analytics software is built to update services for clients and provide reports to them.
Each smart meter is being designed to deliver information to users every 15 minutes, amounting to 2,000 billion readings annually.
