Accenture to Buy Systems Integrator PCO Innovation; Sergio Colella Comments

Accenture has agreed to acquire product lifecycle management systems integration and consulting services provider PCO Innovation for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition seeks to boost Accenture’s service portfolio intended to help customers build, deploy and manage applications and processses throughout a product’s entire life cycle, Accenture said Thursday.

“There is a greater demand to integrate product and service development processes across disciplines from innovation to manufacturing, supply chain and customer service,” said Sergio Colella, Accenture managing director.

“With the combined capabilities of PCO Innovation and Accenture, we improve our ability to address this fast- growing market which is core to our clients as they build their future offerings,” Colella added.

According to the company, the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.

PCO Innovation assists customers in implementing PLM software from several technology providers such as Siemens, Dassault Systemes and PTC.

Jean-Laurent Poitou, senior managing director at Accenture, said PLM Software increases “the speed of product launches by up to 55 percent and reduces operational and product development costs by 10–30 percent.”
