The company will use classroom, practical and operational training procedures for sailors in the engineering, combat systems and deck departments for the training, AMERICAN SYSTEMS said Monday.
DoN intends for the Engineering Readiness Assist Teams program to help sailors build up their operational, repair and maintenance skills.
Peter Smith, executive vice president and chief operating officer at AMERICAN SYSTEMS, said the company intends to help DoN prepare ship crews.
“Dedication to supporting the Department of the Navy runs deep in the fabric of AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ history and culture,” he added.
AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ ERAT teams in California, Washington, Hawaii, Japan and Bahrain started work Sept. 28 under the contract, which contains one base year and two one-year options.
