GE Energy joined the HP AllianceOne Partner Program and deployed four PowerMOD modular containers that work to back up HP’s EcoPOD data centers for clients, GE said Thursday.
Jeff Schnitzer, general manager at GE’s critical power business, said the company intends to help partners adopt the GE PowerMOD with TLE Series UPS systems.
The GE PowerMOD systems use automatic transfer switches, switchboards, transformers and TLE Series uninterruptible power supply in an effort to reduce energy usage.
Doug Oathout, vice president of channel and alliances within the enterprise marketing at HP, said the alliance aims to help address customers’ needs for backup power supply.
The GE PowerMOD modular power container works to produce between 200 and 1,500 kilowatts for running data center applications.
