Lockheed Martin has signed a formal research partnership agreement with Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa University in order to update the company’s customizable web and social media analytics tool.
The company will provide the university with funding over two years for the university’s faculty and students to use computer engineering and other techniques to study and analyze Arabic languages and dialects with Lockheed’s Wisdom product, Lockheed said Wednesday.
“Big data analytics is one of the most important emerging research areas worldwide. We are very excited that our faculty and students will be engaged in this groundbreaking research jointly with an international industrial leader such as Lockheed Martin,” said Mohammed Al-Mualla, Khalifa University senior vice president of research development.
Researchers will gather data with the goal of helping Lockheed build a linguistic feature filter for Wisdom.
First responders, security and law enforcement agencies are among Lockheed’s target customers for Wisdom.
