NetApp has launched an entry-level certification program intended to help familiarize participants with storage technology, NetApp products and systems management skills.
The NetApp Certified Storage Associate program is part of the NetApp University and will provide tiered training to students from qualified academic institutions, NetApp announced Monday.
Curriculum will be presented via web classes and virtual lab activities and the program will require a maximum of 30 hours to complete.
“Today, organizations are faced with the challenge of harnessing data to make strategic decisions that accelerate innovation and enable business success,” said Cynthia Stoddard, NetApp chief information officer.
“New challenges in data management have created high demand for qualified professionals, but today’s IT skills gap prevents many organizations from finding the right people for the job,” she added.
Last spring, NetApp donated 500 NCSA certifications to the White House IT Training and Certification Initiative.
