A goal of the partnership is to further build Verizon’s cloud ecosystem with a new infrastructure-as-a-service platform and offer cloud-based data management services to customers, the companies said Thursday.
“Enterprises continue to invest heavily in cloud and managed services and they need big data solutions to be a part of these offerings,” said Mike Olson, chief strategy officer at Cloudera.
Cloudera’s Enterprise 5 platform will run on top of Verizon’s cloud infrastructure and work to support billions of records as they are deployed on Verizon’s cloud.
“As more enterprises embrace the cloud, we are committed to working with our technology providers to develop an ecosystem of cloud-based services that run on Verizon Cloud and enhance overall business functions,” said John Harrobin, chief marketing officer at Verizon Enterprise Solutions.
“The ability to identify, gather, store and share large amounts of data is one of the true benefits of cloud computing,” Harrobin added.
