Johnson’s appointment brings the board’s total number of members to seven, the company announced Dec. 23.
In addition to CalAmp, Johnson also serves as the executive chairman of Author-IT and as a member of the boards of Intuitive Surgical Inc. and Mellanox Technologies Ltd.
She has also been a venture advisor of Illuminate Ventures and served as chief executive officer of MarketTools until 2008. She then became that company’s chairman until its acquisition in January 2012.
“(Amal) brings significant experience in application software, cloud computing and hosted services from the perspectives of both an executive and investor,” said Albert Moyer, CalAmp chairman.
“I believe that her insight can accelerate our progress in positioning CalAmp as a leading provider of higher margin integrated hardware and software solutions in machine-to-machine communications.”
