CA Technologies has achieved a perfect 100% score on the Human Rights Campaign’s 2014 Corporate Equality Index, putting CA on the best places to work list for gender equality.
The HRC, the nation’s biggest gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, used the CEI to rate large companies on how they treat their LGBT employees, consumers and investors, CA Techologies announced Monday.
“Each of CA’s programs and corporate policies is carefully crafted to ensure that all employees experience 100 percent inclusion and equality in the workplace,” said Guy Di Lella, CA Technologies chief human resources officer.
“We know that diverse teams deliver better results and that diversity of experience, thought and culture help to drive innovation and original ideas. This means that our business hinges on our employees’ ability to express themselves freely and enjoy a work environment that respects all individuals equally — allowing everyone to be at their best, every single day,” he added.
Some of CA Technologies’ programs, policies and benefits for its LGBT employees include participation in the HRC’s Employee Nondiscrimination Act Business Coalition, hosting of Inclusion and Diversity “Breakfast With” events on LGBT topics, an LGBT inclusion team and raising money for the Terence Higgins Trust, a nonprofit organization dedicated to HIV and health prevention.
The CEI scores companies based on 40 policies and practices and rated a total of 934 businesses in 2014, including the entire Fortune 500.
