Cisco to Deploy Network Services for UAE Public Schools; Mike Weston Comments

Cisco-LogoEbizCisco has been selected to deploy wide area network solutions for a body responsible for implementing educational policy in the United Arab Emirates.

The Abu Dhabi Education Council aims to use the company’s Wide Area Application Services for 270 public schools in UAE to help teachers and administrators access enterprise resource planning and human resources applications, Cisco said Dec. 15.

ADEC previously collaborated with Cisco and its partners to deploy WAN services meant to support future data, video and voice requirements of schools.

Mike Weston, vice president at Cisco’s Middle East division, said the company will work to provide networking solutions and systems meant to improve technology innovation for UAE’s education sector.

The WAAS platform is designed as a scalable WAN optimization tool to support local hosting for branch to office information technology services and lessen latency and bandwidth issues.
