Communications provider GTA has been awarded a five-year, $5.1 million contract from the U.S. Navy to supply mobile phone services in Guam.
The company will supply cellular phone and BlackBerry communication services for Naval Facilities Engineering Command areas on the island, GTA said Tuesday.
“Over the years, GTA has participated in federal bids to provide various communications services to the U.S. government,” said Robert Haulbrook, president and CEO at GTA.
“This recent federal award is the largest granted to GTA to date,” Haulbrook added.
GTA received the contract following a bidding process involving unspecified communications companies.
The company has worked the past eight years to provide communications and network services for the public and private sectors in Guam.
