Hewlett-Packard Co. has unveiled data center offerings intended to help customers manage growing amounts of data.
HP built the Converged System portfolio for handling virtualization, big data and hosted desktops, as well as technologies for moving applications from public to private cloud environments, HP said Monday.
Bill Veghte, executive vice president and general manager of the enterprise group at HP, said the company intends for the new offerings to help clients achieve business outcomes and turn data into insights.
The HP converged system is built using HP servers, storage, networking, software and services and features virtualization systems, ConvergedSystem 300 for Vertica and HP Moonshot-based ConvergedSystem 100 for hosted desktops.
Customers are able to consolidate the HP ConvergedSystem offerings into cloud, big data and virtualization technologies using consulting services.
HP designed the ConvergedSystem based on the HP CloudSystem technology for managing cloud platforms.
The Converged Storage works to protect and retain data and features StoreOnce backup services, StoreAll archive for extracting big data insight from repositories and the 3PAR StoreServ storage system.
