IBM has partnered with Greek financial institution Eurobank to develop and introduce a cloud-based platform designed to promote international trade for the country’s importers and exporters.
The Exportgate online portal is built with IBM’s Digital Experience program to facilitate trade transactions and operations for Greek companies and their counterparts in more than 180 countries, IBM said Thursday.
Larry Bowden, vice president of exceptional digital software at IBM, said Eurobank’s initiative is intended to improve international trading system in the area.
Bowden said Exportgate is meant to connect companies to target clientele and to provide a trading resource library for any industry or business requirements.
The cloud-based platform is designed with social tools and e-services such as industry analysis information, direct message capabilities with Greek sellers, forums and virtual presentation features.
IBM said members of the platform have access to directory information of more than 1,400 exporters from Greece and more than 6,500 global businesses.
