Inmarsat has selected voice and data communications provider Network Innovations Inc. to be a value added reseller of Inmarsat’s satellite communications offering for customers worldwide.
Network Innovations will market the Global Xpress satellite service to the media, oil and gas, mining and utility sectors, Inmarsat said Tuesday.
Ronald Spithout, president of Inmarsat Enterprise, said the companies intend to help customers adopt the Global Xpress technology.
The companies want other businesses to use the Global Xpress Ka-band broadband satellite on Inmarsat’s L-band network to fulfill operation requirements through that satellite’s bandwidth and secure waveform.
Inmarsat previously appointed Network Innovations as GX reseller for both Inmarsat Maritime and Inmarsat Global Government.
The Inmarsat-5 F1 satellite is scheduled for launch in December and is expected to achieve global coverage by the end of 2014.
