Oracle has worked with the National Nuclear Security Administration to update a resource management system used inside a nuclear facility near Amarillo, Texas, FCW reported Tuesday.
Mark Rockwell writes the NNSA implemented a new production planning and execution system at the Babcock & Wilcox Pantex plant seven months ahead of schedule using Oracle’s PeopleSoft-based software.
Kenny Steward, the facility’s production control office manager, told FCW NNSA intends for the PeopleSoft software to help consolidate its enterprise resource planning tools based on the Pantex Plant application.
Work at the site included extending of nuclear weapons programs, dismantling of nuclear weapons, developing and testing of high-explosive components and storing plutonium pits.
