Serco has signed a new contract worth $69 million to extend its hotel services at Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust of the U.K. for another three years through September 2019.
The contract continues the company’s facilities management services for the Trust, which provides secondary and tertiary healthcare to more than 450,000 patients in the southwest peninsula, Serco said Thursday.
“This (new agreement) will see the relationship gather momentum, and we are already talking about the integration or transfer of new services,” said Nick Pugh, Serco’s partnership director for health enabling services.
Serco employs more than 600 people in Plymouth to provide cleaning, patient and retail catering, portering and help desk services and support at the hospital.
Derriford has 900 inpatient beds and handles more than 48,000 visitors a week.
