BMC - ExecutiveMosaicThe challenges and changes in information technology in 2014 are not limited to Bring Your Own Device, data integration and cloud computing initiatives, according to an article written by Mark Settle, CIO at BMC Software.

In the article posted on vmblog.com, he writes that the consumerization of IT is having a profound impact on the different offerings available to private companies and the public sector,

Settle says the increasing number of industry platforms, devices and applications will offer many big data opportunities in 2014.

He adds that data integrity will be the theme of 2014 and that the end-user experience and accurately analyzing data will become the goals of many new offerings.

Settle wrote that the cloud will come into the forefront in IT if it hasn’t already done so.

“If you’re someone who thinks we are seeing a cloud innovation plateau today, I believe it will soon be interrupted by an influx of sophisticated offerings, making 2014 a year of great cloud progress and adoption,” he said.

Settle added that companies could loosen the reins on application policies for employees, making it easier to deliver tools that help work performance.
