ITT logoITT isattempting to capitalize on the need for bridges, high-rise buildings, stadiums and city centers to have greater durability and survivability by offering an array of energy absorption and vibration isolation devices, ITT said Thursday.

Using its Enidine brand, ITT’s control technologies continues to diversify its manufacturing capabilities by pushing into the seismic technologies market.

These offerings are meant to help protect its customers’ structures and systems from unwanted shock and vibration produced by earthquakes.

Munish Nanda, president of ITT’s control technologies business, said his business is prepared to serve customers in the developed markets of North America and emerging markets around the globe.

Some of the products include viscous dampers, wire rope technologies and isolator technology for power grids and transformers.

“Specifically, low-pressure viscous dampers are well-suited for bridges where regular motion occurs at the viscous damper due to road vibrations and thermal expansion and contraction of the bridge,” said Jeff Weisbeck, commercial director for ITT’s Eenidine brand.

“These dampers are also designed to operate in varied temperature extremes and include features that allow easy inspection and preventive maintenance,” he added.
