BAE Systems has introduced a collaboration platform that aims to help government and intelligence agency users manage access to sensitive data as well as protect shared documents, InformationWeek reported Friday.
Henry Kenyon writes that BAE’s Secure Information Broker Appliance software works by marking files that are meant only for internal use to avoid unintentional exposure or leakage of confidential information.
The company developed the tool for analysts to highlight specific words, sentences or characters that need to be protected from outsiders.
SIBA is based on BAE’s XTS Guard architecture and STOP 7 operating system and is designed to comply with Pentagon security standards, according to Kenyon’s article.
Kenyon reports the platform works to operate with Microsoft‘s SharePoint collaboration program in order to present redacted versions of intelligence data to other organizations.
BAE also plans to release a hosted or a cloud version of the SIBA program, according to InformationWeek.
