Robert Callahan joined the board of directors at satellite services provider Intelsat on April 1 as an independent member and will serve on the firm’s audit committee.
Callahan is the chairman of media, technology and internet advisory firm Longueview and brings experience at the convergence and evolution of media and internet delivered services to the role, said Intelsat Chairman and CEO David McGlade.
“(This) will prove instrumental as we prepare for the launch of our Intelsat EpicNG satellites and position the company for long-term growth,” McGlade added.
Callahan is a veteran of growth equity firm General Atlantic, where he worked to help discover companies among other responsibilities as a special advisor.
He earlier served as the chairman of Network Solutions and also held that role in addition to the CEO post at Ziff Davis Media, which credits him with leading its digital transformation.
A graduate of the University of Kansas’ journalism program, Callahan also served as president of ABC Inc.’s $6 billion TV and radio division.
