USSI, Sparton Corp. JV Wins $13M Navy Submarine Manufacturing Subcontract

A joint venture of Sparton Corp. and USSI have won manufacturing subcontracts worth $13.3 million to support multiple international awards for exercises planned with the U.S. Navy.

Specifically, ERAPSCO/Sonobuoy TechSystems will provide Sparton $5.6 million worth of manufacturing subcontracts and another $7.7 million to USSI to detect, classify and localize adversary submarines for peacetime and combat operations, Sparton announced Tuesday.

ERAPSCO/Sonobuoy TechSystems will perform work for the contract at Sparton’s De Leon Springs,Fla., facility and USSI’s Columbia City, Ind., facility.

USSI is a subsidiary of Ultra Electronics Holdings plc. and the delivery is scheduled for June 2014.
