John Wood, chief executive officer at Telos, has been named a citizen member of the Virginia Cyber Security Commission by Gov. Terry McAuliffe to provide advisory services for the state’s cybersecurity efforts.
Wood will be one of 11 citizen members in the commission, which McAuliffe formed in February to address cybersecurity concerns related to emergency management, training and economic development, Telos said Monday.
“I am honored to serve on the governor’s commission and look forward to exchanging ideas on how to spur cyber innovation in Virginia, grow the cybersecurity sector, and protect essential cyber assets throughout the Commonwealth,” said Wood.
He will join citizen members from public and private sector organizations on the commission, as well as the state secretaries of:
- Technology
- Veterans and Defense Affairs
- Commerce and Trade
- Education
- Public Safety and Homeland Security
- Health and Human Resources
Wood also serves on the boards of the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors and the Northern Virginia Technology Council and was chairman of the Economic Development Commission at Loudoun County, Virginia.
