Carpathia Vice President for Government Solutions Stu Fleagle said the company will spearhead the expansion of Duke Human Vaccine Institute’s computing platform with a custom plan and offer to draw up a strategy that suits the organization’s challenges.

“A healthy computing infrastructure isn’t possible until certain security and compliance standards have been met,” Fleagle said Wednesday.

According to Carpathia, the contract involves the design, deployment and management of the expanded DHVI infrastructure to ensure its continued compliance with Federal Information Security Management Act and other regulations.

Paul Debien, director for information services at DHVI, said the institute will seek to leverage Carpathia’s custom-built solution and IBX Vault secure data center to help them stay true to their research mission.

Debien said the mission includes management of quality assurance programs used to continually assess infectious disease laboratories nationwide.

“Our IT mission is to support the external quality assurance program’s information integrity and security so that the research efforts, effectiveness and productivity of our investigators are maximized,” Debien added.
