cyber, computerLockheed Martin has been certified by the National Security Agency to offer incident management services designed to help government agencies respond to attacks at the network layer.

The company received the accreditation from NSA’s information assurance directorate through the agency-run Cyber Incident Response Assistance program, Lockheed said Tuesday.

“Our intelligence driven defense approach to securing networks, coupled with our extensive experience protecting .mil, .gov, and .com domains, enabled us to meet the rigorous evaluation criteria set forth in this program,” said Chandra McMahon, vice president of commercial markets at Lockheed’s information systems and global solutions unit.

NSA personnel certified Lockheed as a CIRA service provider based on the company’s work to deliver security incident response services to organizations that operate national security platforms.

The agency launched the CIRA accreditation initiative as part of its National Security Cyber Assistance Program to cover the intrusion detection, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing and incident response areas.
