IBM-logo EbizIBM will provide China’s Shanghai Airport Authority with a software system to manage airport operations at the Hongqiao International Airport, expanding an earlier project to address operational efficiency at the airport, CruxialCIO reported Monday.

Antone Gonsalves writes IBM will deploy the DB2 database, Tivoli Directory Server and Security Identity Manager to build the system.

The new contract is expected to bolster the company’s business in China following tensions stemming from allegations of hacking and cyberspying between the country and the U.S., Gonsalves reports.

The Hongqiao International Airport, together with the Pudong International Airport, which the Shanghai Airport Authority also runs, houses a total of 95 domestic, international and regional airlines.
