SafenetLogoPrakash Panjwani, former senior vice president and general manager of Safenet’s data protection group, will succeed Dave Hansen as Safenet’s president and CEO, Safenet announced Thursday.

Panjwani has been with the data protection company for 12 years, said Dave Fishman, a partner at Vector Capital and member of SafeNet’s board of directors.

Prior to Safenet, Panjwani spent time as SVP of worldwide sales and business development at Certicom and held roles at Motorola before that.

“The current opportunity for SafeNet is immense – what we do is more relevant and more important than ever before and we do it better than anyone else in the industry,” said Panjwani.

“Continued product innovation, investment in our growing partner ecosystem, a strong go-to-market strategy, and ongoing commitment to customer success will enable us to seize that opportunity.”
