HPLogo1 EbizA Hewlett-Packard business unit has signed a $147 million deal to help the Delaware Health and Social Services Department implement a new system for managing the state’s Medicaid enrollment applications and claims.

HP Enterprise Services will deploy an interChange Medicaid management information system and continue serving as the fiscal agent for the Delaware’s health agency under the contract, HP said Tuesday.

The company and the state work together to process benefits for more than 230,000 Medicaid recipients each year, according to HP.

“Delaware very clearly set our requirements so recipients will continue to receive quality services while at the same time supporting strong fiscal responsibility,” said Susan Arthur, HP Enterprise Services vice president for the U.S. health and life sciences industry.

HP’s Medicaid platform is designed to comply with healthcare policy changes as well as helps providers and clients submit requests or claims online.

The five-year agreement also calls for the business to provide system management services during and after the Delaware Medicaid enterprise system deployment.
