Avaya Logo_ExecutiveBizMary Henry, formerly partner and managing director at Goldman Sachs, will become an independent director of Avaya’s board of directors.

Henry also serves as a director of personal business analytics provider FirstRain and Avida Labs, which provides services for cancer patients, Avaya said Thursday.

“Her expertise and perspective will be a tremendous asset to the Board and to Avaya as we continue the transformational phase of our journey,” said Kevin J. Kennedy, president and CEO of Avaya.

She previously worked with the communications industry for Goldman Sachs’ investment division.

Henry also serves on the board of trustees of Atherton, California-based Sacred Heart Schools and on the investment committee and the committee on trustees for the school.
