Cloud EbizSkyhigh Networks will collaborate with SafeNet to deliver key management tools for corporate customers to secure their data in cloud computing environments.

The companies said Monday that they will work to help enterprises balance cloud-based models for data encryption and related encryption keys in order to meet the requirements needed for use.

“More and more organizations are asking to encrypt their data in business-critical [SaaS] applications with customer-managed keys,” said Chris Cesio, vice president of business development and alliances for Skyhigh Networks.

A cloud-based model for data security has the potential to minimize network deficiencies and could avoid the costs of upfront investments, according to the companies.

“Through integration with SafeNet’s leading key management solutions, we’re providing a scalable, standards-based approach that gives customers flexibility of deployment models so that they can leverage the benefits of cloud services while ensuring the best possible security controls,” said Cesio.
