Thurman, Debbie-280Debbie Thurman serves as vice president of contracts and procurement at URS’ federal services division, headquartered in Germantown, MD.

Thurman’s organization is responsible for all phases of contracting and procurement actions and includes approximately 300 professional staff members company-wide.

Headquartered in San Francisco, URS is publicly owned, listed on the New York Stock Exchange has more than 57,000 employees in a network of offices in nearly 50 countries

The 24-year U.S. Air Force veteran joined URS in July 2012 after spending more than seven years with ManTech International.

At the Fairfax, Va-based company, she served as SVP of corporate contracts, where she had responsibility for all contractual actions company-wide.

Prior to ManTech, she worked at TASC as a principal member of the technical staff, after retiring from the Air Force in 1997.  Thurman was promoted to VP of contracts, pricing & procurement in July 2002 and remained in that position until her departure in Dec 2004.

Her Air Force career includes more than twenty-four years of active duty service.

Thurman is a long-time member of the National Contract Management Association where she serves on the executive advisory council. She also holds a leadership role in the National Defense Industrial Association’s, procurement planning committee.

Thurman received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business & Management from the University of Maryland and a Masters of Science in Contract Management from the Florida Institute of Technology.
