Microsoft has unveiled a preview version of Matter Center for Office 365, a document manager and communications solution for information technology and legal professionals.
The Redmond-based software company said Monday that it developed the program from its own document locator and collaboration tool, adding cloud-based processes and beefed up security capabilities.
The final product saw input from the Office 365 team and the legal and corporate affairs group, in collaboration with other legal firms.
“We’ve decided to make this solution more broadly available at the request of our outside counsel, who want to utilize it in their own environments,” said John Frank, vice president and deputy general counsel at Microsoft.
Matter Center for Office 365 offers 1TB of cloud storage via OneDrive for Business and document management, sharing and tracking with version and permission controls.
